Every so often I do a deep-dive into newspaper clippings, which are often just average kids on the street having a good time. I have a new batch of photos and stories from the 1960s. Check out 1960s News Clippings Part 1 for the initial motherlode!

- Cindy Webb of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, goes for a ride on September 8, 1968, documented in the Sunday Times. The Editor clarifies that Cindy is not a relation, nor his wife of the same name! Haha.
- Christine Standridge of Parsons, Kansas, was grateful for her skateboard after breaking her leg at the playground. Her parents both have back injuries and struggled to lift her according to the Standridge Sentinel newspaper, June 8, 1968, out of Kansas.
- Kim Rathbone age 7 of St. Catharines, Ontario in Canada, hit the streets on her skateboard, documented by The Standard newspaper on April 1, 1968.
- Susan Schmall age 9 takes advantage of her driveway to skate back in July 16, 1967, for the Fresno Bee newspaper in California.
- Lisa Rodriguez was described as a “Die-Hard Skateboarder” (the original badass?) because she keeps skateboarding despite her cast, which was a result of a bail. Lisa was featured in the Santa Maria Times, September 29, 1964.
