Amanda Kitt

Amanda Kitt is most recognizable for her street-skating cameo in the Villa Villa Cola video called Getting Nowhere Faster (2004), and for a feature interview in Issue 14 of Check it Out: skateboarding 4 girls magazine from 2003, where it was noted that she was age 16, sponsored by Lee Lee skateboards and on flow for Savier shoes.

In her interview for Check it Out, Amanda explained that she started skating three years prior, “when I went to my friend’s house and her brother was watching an old Scarecrow video. I thought it was cool, so we started to watch Jump Off A Building (Toy Machine) and from there I just started skating.”

In 2003, Amanda considered the best skate videos to be Art Bars (Foundation), Welcome to Hell (Toy Machine) and Sight Unseen (Transworld) and she liked the style of Ethan Fowler.

In issue 15 of Check it Out, there was a feature article about a roadtrip through Arizona, which included several photos of Amanda, taken by Luciana Toledo, as well as Vanessa Torres.

A photo by Luciana from that same roadtrip would also appear in the Spring 2004 catalogue for Savier shoes, her sponsor.

Amanda was a roommate of the legendary, Amy Caron, and would occasionally pop up in Lisa Whitaker’s website the Girls Skate Network, such as a few photos from 2008. Alex White even gave her a shout out saying that “she’s chill, the kind of person you would want on a long roadtrip” for a 2008 interview on the site.

Amanda seemed content to street skate with her friends rather than pursue contests.

Here are a few YouTube edits from 2010:

In 2013, Amanda briefly appeared in a David Serrano edit called SK8 or Die and based on her Instagram account, she is still skating!
