Sussi Berglund (Mabbe) of Stockholm, Sweden was skateboarding in her teens and even appeared in a local newspaper performing a handstand in 1978 at age 16, evidently having a great time along with friend Henrik.

Based on her Facebook profile, she enjoyed both freestyle and mini-ramp, along with friend Agneta Grapne. With consistent practise, the two girls became part of the New Sport Circus team and even got a chance to skate with American pros like Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta.

Sussi has a fantastic scrapbook, full of clippings from Sweden about the community and evolution of skateboarding in the late 1970s. Eventually, she moved to Vancouver, Canada in 1983 and more recently posted some fun photos as a 59 year-old testing out her skate legs at a local pub.

Hopefully will make a connection with Sussi to learn more!
